The law and grace

What it is?

According to the Psalmist, “The law of Adonai is perfect, restoring the soul.” According to the apostle Paul, “The law is holy and the commandment right and good.” So, we can say that the law is a teaching, an instruction from God that is perfect, holy, right and good for all to keep.

Grace is an expression of God that benefits weak and fallen man. It is God’s kindness and love that is shown to those who fear God, and given to those who are humble before God. Grace provides to man what man does not have. The law demands fulfilment of every section applicable to the situation. It does not provide the power for fulfilment. Grace says, only believe! Freely I give, freely receive. What does it do? And what it can’t do?

The law condemns sinners to death. Curses are the result of breaking it. It cannot let a guilty person go free without punishment. It gives the knowledge of sin. The law brings the sinner to a realisation of the need for Christ the gracious saviour.

Grace saves the sinner from death. Blessings are the result of having received it. Grace teaches a sinner to deny ungodliness, and live a godly life. Grace gives the guilty a second chance at life.

We are taught by apostle Paul to remain under grace and not attempt to be under the law. We are to abide in Christ and walk as He walked. We are to learn to walk in the Spirit or according to the Spirit of Christ.

भजनहार के अनुसार, "अडोनाई का नियम एकदम सही है, वह प्राण को बहाल कर देती है।" प्रेषित पौलुस के मुताबिक, "कानून पवित्र है और आज्ञा सही और अच्छी है।" इसलिए, हम कह सकते हैं कि कानून एक शिक्षा है, प्रभु का एक निर्देश है जो सभी के लिए सही, पवित्र, और अच्छा है।

अनुग्रह ईश्वर की एक अभिव्यक्ति है जो कमजोर और पतित मनुष्य को लाभ पहुंचाता है। यह प्रभु की दया और प्यार है जो उन लोगों को दिखाया जाता है जो उससे डरते हैं, और जो प्रभु के सामने विनम्र हैं, उन्हें दिया जाता है। अनुग्रह मनुष्य को वह प्रदान करता है जो मनुष्य के पास नहीं है।

कानून स्थिति पर लागू हर वर्ग की पूर्ति की मांग करता है। यह पूर्ति के लिए शक्ति प्रदान नहीं करता है।

कृपा कहती है, केवल विश्वास करो! स्वतंत्र रूप से मैं देता हूं, स्वतंत्र रूप से आप प्राप्त करते हैं।

वह क्या करता है? और यह क्या नहीं कर सकता है?

कानून पापियों को मौत की सजा देता है। नर्सें इसे तोड़ने का परिणाम हैं। यह एक दोषी व्यक्ति को बिना सजा के मुक्त नहीं होने दे सकता। यह पाप का ज्ञान देता है। कानून पापी को मसीह की ज़रूरत के बारे में अहसास दिलाता है।

अनुग्रह पापी को मृत्यु से बचाता है। आशीर्वाद इसे प्राप्त करने का परिणाम है। अनुग्रह पापी को अधर्म से इनकार करना, और ईश्वरीय जीवन जीना सिखाता है। अनुग्रह दोषी को जीवन में दूसरा मौका देता है।

हमें प्रेरित पौलुस ने अनुग्रह के अधीन रहने और व्यवस्था के अधीन रहने का प्रयास न करने के लिए सिखाया है। हम मसीह में बसते हैं और वैसा ही चले जैसा वह चलता था। हमें आत्मा में या मसीह की आत्मा के अनुसार चलना सीखना है।
